Bidding War

Author: YueFei23, WiseKensai

Written to support the ongoing Operation Edgelord narrative campaign.

FZX staff have embezzled a haul of Bitcreds and asked you to tell them where to stash them for recovery. Try to put them somewhere your opponent won't get to them first and snatch theirs before they can get to them.

Mission Objectives

Main Objectives

  • At the end of the game, Control a BitCred token.
    • 1 Objective Point, max 10.

Classified Objectives

Forces and Deployment

  • SIDE A and SIDE B: Both players will deploy on opposite sides of the game table, in Deployment Zones whose size depends on the number of Army Points in the Army Lists.

Bidding War

Scenario Special Rules

TECH-COFFINS

There are 5 Tech-Coffins, placed on the centerline and at the edge of each deployment zone. Each Tech-Coffin is Silhouette 5 and must be represented by a token or a scenery piece of the same diameter (such as the Console of the ITS Objective Pack Alpha, the Human Consoles by Micro Art Studio, the Tech Consoles by Warsenal or the Comlink Console by Customeeple).

Decentralized Blockchain

After both players have deployed but before reserves are placed, each player allocates 5 BitCred tokens to the 5 Tech Coffins on the table in the following manner:

  • Starting with the player going second, choose a Tech Coffin.
  • In secret, both players choose a number of their remaining BitCred tokens to allocate to the currently chosen Tech Coffin. This may be done by keeping a number of tokens hidden in each player's hand.
  • When both players have chosen, simultaneously reveal the chosen amount of BitCred tokens and allocate the sum to the Tech Coffin
  • Repeat this process, alternating who chooses the Tech-Coffin, for all remaining unchosen Tech Coffins to distribute each player's remaining BitCred tokens. Any remaining BitCred tokens must be placed on the final Tech Coffin.
  • At the end of this process, there should be a total of 10 BitCreds on the table, allocated amongst the 5 Tech Coffins. Note that some Tech Coffins may have 0 BitCreds.

BitCred Tokens

Each BitCred token must be represented by a token. If there are multiple BitCreds, either stack the tokens, one per BitCred, or otherwise note how many BitCreds are denoted by each token.

Extract BitCred Token
Long Skill, Attack.
Requirements
  • Only Specialist Troops can declare this Long Skill.
  • The Specialist Troop must be in Silhouette contact with a Tech-Coffin.
  • During Turn 1, only the Tech Coffin farthest from the active player may be interacted with. Note that this is mirrored for each player.
  • During Turn 2, the Tech-Coffin farthest from the active player and the Tech-Coffins on the centerline may be iteracted with.
  • During Turn 3, all Tech-Coffins may be interacted with.
Effects
  • Allows the specialist troop to pick up as many BitCred tokens as it can carry with no WIP roll required.
  • Note that if the specialist does not have enough carrying capacity or chooses to take less BitCreds than its capacity, there may be BitCreds left in the Tech-Coffin.
Pick Up BitCred Token
Short Skill, Attack.
Requirements
  • The Trooper should be in one of the following situations:
    • Be in Silhouette contact with an allied Trooper in a Normal State with BitCred tokens.
    • Be in Silhouette contact with a unaccompanied BitCred tokens.
Effects
  • Spending one Short Skill, without Roll, any Trooper can pick up BitCred Tokens in any of the situations previously mentioned.
  • The Troops must accomplish the Common Rules of BitCred Tokens.

Hacker Bonus

Hackers may attempt to Extract BitCred tokens as a short skill, but must successfully pass a WIP roll to do so. This may be attempted as many times as desired.

Common Rules of BitCred Tokens

  • Each Model can carry up to 3 BitCred tokens. As an exception, Troopers possessing the Baggage Special Skill can carry up to 5 BitCred tokens.
  • Each carried token is considered to be controlled.
  • Only Models, and not Markers (Camo, Impersonation, Holoechoes...) can carry the BitCred tokens.
  • The BitCred tokens must always be kept on the table, even if the Model which is carrying them passes to a Null State. If a model is carrying more than one token, stack them or otherwise note how many BitCreds are represented by a single token.

End of the Mission

This scenario has a limited time frame, so it will automatically finish at the end of the third Game Round.

If one of the players starts their Active Turn in a Retreat! situation, the game will end at the end of that Turn.
